Overview: Impact Meets Adventure
Experience the “Roof of the World” not just as a traveler, but as a meaningful contributor to local development. This all-inclusive program in Kathmandu offers a unique blend of humanitarian work and Himalayan exploration. Since 2000, we have connected global citizens with Nepalese communities, providing a safe and impactful environment for volunteers to make a real difference while discovering the soul of the Himalayas.
Your Volunteer Projects
You can choose to focus your energy on one of two primary pathways. No prior professional experience is required—just an open heart and a willingness to learn.
- Teaching & Education: Work in local schools to boost students’ confidence. You’ll assist with English, Math, and IT, or lead creative workshops in music and sports. We provide the tools and daily planning support you need to succeed in the classroom.
- Childcare Support: Provide hands-on care for children from underprivileged backgrounds. You will assist with early education, help with meal times and hygiene, and provide the individual attention these children need to thrive and grow.
A Day in the Life: Culture & Immersion
Your weekdays are a perfect balance of service and self-discovery:
- Mornings: Dedicate your time to your chosen project, working alongside local staff and international peers.
- Afternoons: Transition into cultural discovery. Engage in Nepali language lessons, participate in a Yoga workshop, or learn the secrets of local spices in a traditional cooking class.
- Evenings: Reflect on your day over authentic local cuisine. One of the highlights of the week is a traditional dinner with a local family, giving you an intimate perspective on daily life in the Kathmandu Valley.
Weekend Adventures: Beyond the City
For those seeking the full “Volunteer and Travel” experience, your weekends are transformed into unforgettable excursions:
- Chitwan National Park: Swap the city for the jungle. Embark on a jeep safari to spot the Royal Bengal Tiger and one-horned rhinoceros, and drift down the Rapti River in a traditional canoe.
- Pokhara: Relax by the serene Phewa Lake under the shadow of the Annapurna range. Witness a spectacular Himalayan sunrise from Sarangkot and explore the mystical Devi’s Fall.
